alphacut records was founded in 2002 as a drum&bass label with a strict whitelabel philosophy, featuring up and coming artists from all over europe. until today the imprint is being transformed into a platform for new kinds of energetic uptempo breakbeat tunes and beyond. we conceive and conduct a wide range of electronic music with a focus on broken beats, uncompromising sounds, experimental and informal innovations and a healthy bit of rough dancefloor attitude.

alphacut records is releasing more or less dancefloor compatible experimental drum&bass 12inch artist split singles. mainly set up for djs and collectors, reflecting in features like locked grooves, handnumbered limitations and coloured vinyl.
besides that, alphacute is a sublabel for 7inch split releases with affiliated labels, showing the background scene beyond the usual d&b bizness, dealing with experimental electronics of all kinds imaginable.

to push the boundaries of what was known as drum&bass, was alphacut's primary aim when it was founded six years ago. this time it seems as if this goal has finally been reached: four playable uptempo smashers by promising artists from all over this crazy little planet. each one running his totally unique business, though all songs feel united by their obvious intention to expand the one they used to call the drum&bass. everything is possible: hard hittin electronica, deep darkstep and edgy drumfunk. this is it, welcome 2008!

at a time when everything feels said about upfront drum&bass tunes and all so-called heads turn back to deeper shades of bass like dubstep, even alphacut headquarters' feel like its time for some really meditative 180bpm breakbeat rides, walls of dub and - of course - subbass!

breaks, breaks, breaks. we introduce a nearly unknown and upcoming talent from berlin: bad matter, the lost soul of jungle from germany with his very first vinyl release. listen to it and you will remember former droppin' science kind-of-stuff, made of jazz breaks and tube basslines. alphacut 001 hit the advanced dancefloors across europe one year ago, and now the mighty 'rude bwoy' strikes back: lxc redisigned cycom's work into a dark metal soldier, forcing all sophisticated feet to dance.
